Meet my Fur Babies

Medical Student’s Journey with Her Furry Family

Hello everyone! My name is Lizzy, a medical student graduated from across border. Apart from diving into my textbooks and lectures, there’s another side of my life that brings me endless joy and companionship—my seven adorable cats, who I lovingly rescued in 2020.

The Rescue Story:
I found my first cat, Peeps, in the Baiyun District, near the bustling airport. She was a frightened little soul, and I couldn’t bear to leave her behind. Bringing Peeps home felt like destiny, and as I nurtured her back to health, I realized that I’d embarked on a beautiful journey of feline companionship.

Meet My Fur Babies!

1. Peeps - The original queen of my heart, she’s named after her sweet and delicate nature.

2. Buki - Buki earned her name from my native language, where it means "fluffy." And fluffy she is! Her coat is as soft as a cloud, and she loves to cuddle!

3. Carli - Short for "Car," this little mischief-maker always has the most playful antics that never fail to make me laugh.

4. Gine - Named after ginger due to her striking orange fur, this ginger girl is as feisty as they come.

5. Nani - Nani, meaning "small," was a tiny little kitten when I rescued her. Her full name, Naupangte, translates to "kid" in Mizo, reflecting her playful nature.

6. Jijite - This sweetheart honors a ginger cat I once had who passed away. His memory lives on through this new love.

7. Fafi- My playful spirit! Her name pays homage to the Fifa World Cup, as she has a playful demeanor that keeps everyone entertained.

Fostering New Friends:
Right now, I’m fostering three more cats! Each of them has their own charm:

Boba: Named after my favorite milk tea, this little one is as sweet as her name suggests.

Tyler: An inseparable buddy of Peeps, they share a special bond that warms my heart. They are practically mother and son!

Vavar: A timid little male who’s full of cuteness but terrified of most humans. I worry about him finding a friend; he’s such a special guy.

The Heartache of Leaving

Due to visa and graduation issues, I wasn’t able to bring my furry family with me, which has been incredibly hard. I had to leave them behind under the care of some friends. It feels as though I'm leaving part of my heart behind. They are more than just pets; they are my children, my companions in loneliness, and my source of unconditional love.

The Mission Ahead:
My mission is clear: I am determined to bring my cats home with me. With every passing day, I think of ways to make this happen. They deserve a loving home where we can be reunited—a place they can feel safe and loved, just like when I first rescued them.

I hope to document this journey—both the struggles and successes—and share my experiences with all of you. Whether it's through fundraising or finding the right resources, I am committed to giving my cats a forever home.

Thank you for being a part of my journey. Together, let’s make a difference in the lives of animals in need!

With love,
Lizzy
P.S. If you’re ever see a girl with seven cats (and a few fosters), that’s me!
